Electrostatic Air Cleaners or Electrostatic Precipitators are used in the collection of wet and dry particulates like dust, oil mist, cooking fumes and various pollutants. Contaminated air is drawn by the motor/blower through a washable metal mesh pre-filter which traps large dust particles. The remaining particles, some as small as 0.01 microns, pass into a strong electrical field (ionizing section) where the particulate receives an electrical charge. The charged particles then pass into a collector plate section made up of a series of equally spaced parallel plates. Each alternate plate is charged with the same polarity as the particles, which repel, while the interleaving plates are grounded, which attract and collect the contaminants. The contaminants are held in these plates until they are washed away.
An individual unit of RydAiR Electrostatic Air Cleaner (EAC) is installed at the kitchen exhaust duct near to the kitchen hoods to remove cooking contaminants such as smoke, grease particles and oil mist. The exhaust fan pulls the air containing cooking fumes into the EAC through the kitchen hood and ducts. Up to 95% of the cooking fumes is collected by the EAC. Single unit airflow rate is 2500 to 10,000 CMH, depending on the model of the EAC. Once the contaminants are filtered in the EAC, clean air is discharged to the exterior of the building via the exhaust ducts. As the main exhaust duct remains clean, the need for maintenance and the risk of fire are reduced.
RydAiR’s EACs come with washable prefilters and collection cells which can be used for many years with proper cleaning and maintenance. As EACs only filter wet and dry particulates, optional UV ozone lamp can be installed with the EAC to control cooking odour. Alternatively, separate Charcoal filter units (charcoal banks) can be installed after the EAC to control odour.
To handle higher air flow rate, multiple units of RydAiR Electrostatic Air Cleaners or Electrostatic Precipitators (EAC) are installed at the kitchen exhaust duct near to the kitchen hoods to remove cooking contaminants such as smoke, grease particles and oil mist. The exhaust fan pulls the air containing cooking fumes into the EAC through the kitchen hood and ducts. Up to 95% of the cooking fumes is removed in the EAC. Oil Mist and other pollutants generated from CNC machines are diverted into the RydAiR RB700 Oil Mist Collector. Since the EACs collect both wet and dry particulates, the oil mist is collected in the RB700, resulting in the discharged air being free of any oil mist.
Airborne particles such as dirt, dust, smokes and fumes generated from the cutting, grinding and welding at production work stations are filtered in RydAiR’s Electrostatic Air Cleaners or Electrostatic Precipitators (EACs). Multiple units of EACs are installed at the factory exhaust duct near to the production work station to remove contaminants such as smoke, grease particles and oil mist. The exhaust fan pulls the air containing the contaminants into the EAC through the exhaust ducts. Once the contaminants are filtered in the EAC, clean air is discharged to the exterior of the building via the exhaust ducts.
RydAiR’s MERV 14 Modular Electronic Air Cleaners, DM2000B/DM1000B are installed at the air return inlet of an Air Handling Units (AHU) to reduce the number of airborne particles from soiling the AHU’s cooling coils. When they are used in place of mechanical pre and post filters, huge savings in energy consumption is derived as a result of lower pressure drop of the EAC compared to these conventional mechanical filters. Also, with proper cleaning and maintenance, the washable prefilters and collection cells can be used for many years. The DM2000B/DM1000B units are generally used in commercial buildings.
RydAiR’s Ceiling Suspended Electronic Air Cleaners, DM450/DM900N-DC units are designed to be flush mounted to false ceilings in the room. They are effective in removing dust, tobacco, smoke, bacteria, pollen, lint and various pollutants. The UVC irradiator disable germs and bacteria in the environment, making the air cleaner and healthier. The DM450/DM900N-DC units take up dirty air in one direction and discharge clean air in three directions, thereby purifying and recycling the air back to the premises. As no air is exhausted out of the room, there is no loss of cool or heated air.
The DM 450N/DM900N-DC units can be used in indoor facilities such as offices, conference rooms, dining areas, pantries, restaurants, lounges and pubs etc.
